2. Ham Technician Study Kit (Android app)
This section applies to the Ham Technician Study Kit app (package com.hytechconsulting.hamtechstudy), published on Google Play by HyTech Consulting LLC.
Information stored only on your device
To save your progress, the app keeps the following only in its private storage on your device:
- Flash card marks and review schedules
- Practice exam history, scores and unfinished exams
- Bookmarks, reading position, text size and page color settings
HyTech does not receive or have access to this information. You can erase it by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the app. The app has no user accounts and no analytics of its own.
Advertising
The app is free and supported by a single banner ad at the bottom of the screen, provided by Google AdMob. It shows no pop-up, full-screen or video ads.
To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects the following and shares it with Google:
- Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID
- Your device's IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location
- Ad interactions, such as app launches, ad views and taps
- Diagnostic and performance information about the app and the ads
This data is encrypted in transit. HyTech does not receive it in a form that identifies you. Google's use of this data is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices in the app
- Where the law requires it, including in the European Economic Area, the UK and some U.S. states, the app asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice with the Privacy choices button on the app's About screen when it's offered in your region.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your Android device's Google or Privacy settings.
Links
Links in the app to outside sources, such as the FCC or NCVEC websites, open in your browser, and those websites' own privacy policies apply.
3. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy
- Have it corrected or deleted
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal information, or profiling
- Appeal our decision on your request
Children. Our Site, services and apps are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes. We may update this policy. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
